Following treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Michael O’Neil launched GetWellNetwork in 2000 with a mission to help people take a more active role in their health journey. Michael’s vision established patient engagement as a healthcare technology segment and a strategic imperative for healthcare providers. Twenty five years later, Get Well software has reached over 85 million patients across the world. Michael raised multiple rounds of venture capital, acquired five companies and closed three private equity exits. In November 2025, SAI Group merged Get Well with sister company RhythmX AI and Michael assumed the role of Vice Chair of the combined company.
Michael also serves as an Operating Partner at K1 Investments in Los Angeles, CA and was Executive Chairman at PerfectServe from 2019-2025, where he recruited a CEO, CFO and CRO to replace the founding team and grew ARR from $28m to $105m and ebitda from break even to over $30m. Michael is an early-stage investor where he mentors founders, and a Limited Partner in healthcare and technology funds. A frequent guest lecturer at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and University of Virginia Law School, Michael also serves as a Special Advisor at the Aspen Institute, where he is a Health Innovators Fellow and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Michael is an active leader in the healthcare, entrepreneurial, and non-profit communities, including the Young Presidents Organization, Mindshare and my5, a non-profit he launched in 2024 as a gratitude network for the world. In 2019, Michael received The Global Good Fund’s Social Entrepreneur of the Year award and the Georgetown Entrepreneurial Alliance’s Social Impact award, was awarded E&Y Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 and was named Technology Executive of the Year by the Northern Virginia Technology Council. He previously served on the non-profit boards of Blood Cancer United and the DAISY Foundation, and is a media contributor on a variety of industry topics on entrepreneurship, healthcare and purpose-driven culture. Michael authored a “Founder’s Love Letter to Healthcare” on LinkedIN in November 2025 and his research journal contributions include the “Interactive Care Model: A Framework for More Fully Engaging People in Their Healthcare” in the Journal of Nursing Administration, 2015.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University and was part of the inaugural cohort at Stanford University’s Advanced Leadership Program for Health Futurists in 2025. He lives in Chevy Chase, MD, with his wife and two daughters.
