Jim King
Jim King was born and raised in suburban Philadelphia, where he later raised his own family. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Jim pursued a career in the investment industry with several brokerage firms. In 1989, he was hired by Meridian Asset Management, where he led the Philadelphia investment team. In 1994, he joined National Penn Bank and helped establish Investors Trust Company, a limited purpose bank offering trust services, and later Institutional Advisors LLC, an SEC-registered investment adviser. Jim served as president and chief investment officer of both firms, achieving growth to $3.4 billion in client assets. After National Penn was acquired by BB&T in 2016, Jim continued as the firm’s chief investment officer. He left BB&T following the bank’s merger with SunTrust and was excited to apply his experience at Lindenwold Advisors, Inc., which has now been acquired by Dakota Wealth Management.
Jim currently serves as treasurer and chairman of the finance committee of the board of trustees of Highfield Hall & Gardens in Falmouth, MA, and as an advisor to Alvernia University and Habitat for Humanity Berks County PA. He was formerly treasurer and finance chairman of both the Montgomery County Community College Foundation and the InterFaith Housing Alliance of Ambler, a member of the Audit and Finance Committee of Phoebe Ministries, and a member of the Reading Downtown Improvement District board. Professionally, Jim is an affiliate member of the CFA Society and the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia and is a past governor of The Bond Club of Philadelphia.
